Unify Squares

A board of scattered color. Your job is to flood it into one — matching every square, in as few moves as you can manage. Simple to learn, quietly hard to optimize.

Try a mini board

Tap a color below. It floods outward from the top-left corner, absorbing every matching square it touches. Keep going until the whole board is one color — see how few moves you can do it in.

This is a small taste of the real game, right in your browser.

How a round plays out

The whole game is three steps, repeated until the board is unified.

1

Read the board

Every square starts a random color. The top-left square is always your starting point.

2

Pick a color

Your region floods into the connected group of matching squares, growing outward each time.

3

Chase the low score

Repeat until every square matches. Fewer moves means a better, more optimized score.

From calm to chaotic

Boards get bigger and busier as you go, so the same simple rule keeps getting harder to solve well.

Origin

Unify Squares started as a final project for an Android development course at North Central University in Minneapolis, then grew into a full, free release.
